Why is the sunroof good? What is the ADVANTAGE of an additional installation of sunroof?

The sunroof is a great option for small electric city cars with a range of 300 km in total. It can replace air conditioning in the transitional seasons, saving enough electricity for a distance of 40-60 km during a charging cycle.
Its basic function: design & noise- and draft-free ventilation.
It is also used as an optical tuning element for many cars.
In vehicles without air conditioning if we want to provide the ventilation without draft.
Our sunroofs are universal types.
We offer a 3-year warranty, excluding the glass.
The disadvantages of air conditioners can be avoided.
As against a factory sunroof, the additional sunroof can always be replaced by the same or even a larger size.
The roof stiffness is improved by the sunroof, making the roof even stiffer than it was at the factory.

What is the difference between the sunroof and the air conditioner?

The sunroof eliminates the negative properties of air conditioners. Although the A/C cools well in temperatures as high as 40 degree Celsius ( = 104 °F ), but it dries the air, which can cause respiratory and sinus infections for sensitive people. The A/C requires constant maintenance, it must be disinfected and checked the refrigerant gas annually, moreover it even consumes fuel. It significantly reduces the performance of older cars.

In contrast, the sunroof does not require any special maintenance and does not consume energy. It changes air without drafts, and in addition is almost noise-free up to 120 km/h. It is also used as an optical tuning element for many cars. Its design is particularly benefical for smokers in the car.

Are there any signs on the glasses of sunroofs? Do these meet with the standards?

On our glasses of sunroofs is the DOT, EU Ministry of Transport mark which meets US and EU standards.

At the Ministry of Transport test, you only have to prove these numbers which are on the glass. No other standard license is required for its use.

Where can I request an installation of the sunroof?

All service centers undertake an installation of the sunroofs. We only carry out reference installation in individual cases for demonstration sample sunroof or serial consumption for companies in our Kecskemét factory.

Misconceptions, technical questions:

Does not the sunroof get soaked?

The sunroof, as any other product, never gets soaked when it is properly installed. In two cases can be soaked, if the user leaves it open in the rain, or does not wipe the sealing profile under the glass every two months with a cloth which is covered by silicone oil. Smaller pebbles or twigs may get stuck there, which may break the sealing profile. That is why sunroofs of factory are made with drainage channels on top of the car: many times these get soaked, and the channels immediately drains the water instead of going to the seat. However, the channels precisely because of this reason may rust and puncture over time. That solution is more complicated because a broken factory window can not be replaced with a larger one. But an additional sunroof can always be replaced by the same or even a larger size.

Is it true that the original car factory-fitted sunroof does not soak while the additional one does?

If it is installed in a professional workshop, then it will be at least as good as the factory sunroof. It does not depend on the additional installation but on the technician. That is why you need to require a warranty on installation from your service. The soak is an installation failure in both cases: 20 years ago there were only rubber seals, very few companies used silicone-based plastic seals, because of this rumour spread that the rubber seal would rot and after the window gets soak. The common misconception is that soft is rubber. But this is no longer true. The silicone-based plastic sealant we use remains elastic and does not get aging between -40 °C and +180 °C ( = -40°F and +356°F ).

Does the sunroof make worse the stiffness of the roof?

Rather improves it! Thanks to the sunroof, the roof will be even stiffer than it was at the factory. Because of the cost-effectiveness of modern cars, the roof panel is usually just a very thin metal sheet that actually serves as an umbrella. The heat-insulating material and upholstery underneath are glued on to prevent it from resonating on the road. The stiffness of roof is not ensured by roof panel, but the tube profile frame that surrounds above the doors. Think of cabriolet cars: what would be happened to those who would fall over or stand upside down if the producers did not use this solution? The frame of the sunroof when screwed, also gives a tubular character, which stiffs the upper panel.
